Soaring High: A Day at the 2025 Abbotsford Airshow

The 2025 Abbotsford Airshow was one for the books. From the moment the gates opened, it was clear this year’s event had something special in store. The static display alone was one of the most impressive in recent years. Rows of aircraft, from vintage warbirds to cutting-edge military jets, lined the tarmac for all to see. The best part – the aircrews. Every pilot, technician, and support crew member were approachable, enthusiastic, and happy to share stories, answer questions, and make the experience unforgettable for show-goers of all ages.

In the skies, the action was nothing short of breathtaking. The CF-18 Hornet demo roared into view, combining raw power with jaw-dropping precision. The Canadian Forces Snowbirds brought their trademark grace and precision to the sky, with tight formations and perfectly timed maneuvers that had the crowd cheering. Not to be outdone, the U.S. Air Force F-35 demo left the audience in awe with its agility and mind-bending acceleration, proving why it’s one of the most advanced aircraft in the world.

We had a special appearance for the first time ever at the Abbotsford Airshow – the Mig-17 demo made its appearance, wowing the crowd with its speed, agility, and Cold War-era charm.

The private aerobatics teams also turned heads, with solo pilots and formation crews performing loops, rolls, and daring low passes that had spectators holding their breath.

And while the planes stole the spotlight, the food trucks held their own as crowd-pleasers. The culinary lineup was as diverse as the flight schedule. Legendary White Spot burgers, mouth-watering gyros, sweet treats of every variety, specialty vegan offerings, and, of course, those classic summertime staples; fresh lemonade and ice cream. There was truly something for every craving.

A huge shout-out is owed to the volunteers who make the airshow run like clockwork. From guiding traffic to keeping the grounds safe and clean, they’re the unsung heroes who ensure thousands of people can enjoy a seamless day of fun and excitement.

For many, the Abbotsford Airshow isn’t just an event it’s a tradition like it is for our family. A place where families, aviation enthusiasts, and first-time visitors can share in the thrill of flight, the joy of community, and the magic of looking up at the sky in wonder.
